MAN LAI WAH HOTEL
The Man Lai Wah hotel at the Lamma Island ferry pier is a lot cuter and cleaner than it seems from the outside and is a fantastic budget option for the urban hippie traveler that doesn’t want to pay and arm and a leg while visiting Hong Kong. Lamma Island is a fantastic tourist attraction in it’s own right as it’s buzzing with seafront restaurants and has charming beaches and hikes all over the island. This hotel is situated steps away from the ferry pier and from the main street and is only a short ferry ride from Central hence it’s super convenient.
The décor of Man Lai Wah Hotel is retro-kitschy. The rooms are basic and clean. The ones with the balcony overlooking the ferry pier are very romantic as you can see the sunset from there. The tariff for the weekdays range from $HK400-450 and the weekends are $HK600 and up. There’s always a bit of room for bargaining depending on how long you’re staying.
