Located within QRE Plaza on Queens Road East, Quemo is a cool Spanish restaurant serving authentic paella and delicious home-style dishes from Catalonia, Spain. It offers a rustic yet laid back interior perfect for casual meals and after work drinks - and also offers a vibey alfresco area overlooking old and new Wan Chai district.
One of the most popular dishes at Quemo is the home-style paellas offering a creative take on the traditional Spanish rice dish - to make, grains are thinly spread on a hot pan to ensure a crisp and al dente texture. If you order the Mussel Paella, be sure to spice it up with a dash of aioli and mussel gravy to add an additional flavor hit!
Quemo also boasts very fresh veggies sourced from local markets and farms. Try their Grilled Eggplant ($78) served with olive oil and a unique sauce made with tomato and hazel nuts; or the Pregnant Tomato ($68) which is served with a generous dash of finely grated cheese. The tomato dish was also served with the scrummy homemade Catalan-style romesco sauce featuring hazel nuts, garlic, tomato, fried bread, vinegar and nora (dried pepper paste).
And for a delicious and summery thirst quencher - try the premium sangria ($50) which is made with fruit that has marinated for 10 days; or opt for the spicy strawberry ($80) which will give you a peppery kick. For those who enjoy a bottle of wine over lunch or dinner, Quemo offers a great selection of cava and Spanish red and white wine.
