FOFO
Fofo is a new contemporary Spanish restaurant in the M88 building on Wellington street in Central. Located on the 20th floor, the place has a nice mountain view and tranquil surroundings. It's a good place for a casual business lunch.
The decor at Fofo is simple and chic. There's a fresh white color scheme and the walls are lined with white penguin figures adding a bit of casual playfulness to the decor.
Offering both traditional and modern Spanish cuisine, Fofo has an extensive menu designed by award-winning Willy Trullas Moreno from Barcelona, Chef of ‘El Willy’, Fofo's sister company in Shanghai. Their tapas menu is very long with more than 50 items to choose from. Their signature dishes include - Crispy Suckling Pig, Scallop Ceviche, Avocado & Crispy Shallots and Sautéed Shrimps with garlic & chili. All of the seafood items are made fresh and light.
The sautéed shrimps with garlic & chili was our favorite. It's perfect a appetizer to whet the taste buds. The flavor is rich, the spices stimulating, yet each ingredient is simple and doesn't overshadow each other. The Crispy Suckling Pig is decent here. The pig is roasted to golden brown. It is very crispy and the taste is just right. Not too salty nor too oily.
Overall, Fofo is a relaxing contemporary Spanish restaurant that is good for diners in Central who'd like to avoid the crowd. Their extensive menu pretty much has something for everybody, hence, it's a nice place for a large group.
