SOUTH BAY BEACH CLUB

This is the scenario- You've been out drinking all night at Kee Club, Dragon-I or Volar. You wake up the next day. It's sunny and though hung over, you want to go for a late lunch by the beach. The logical choice is the South Bay Beach Club. The crowd of this place is fit, good-looking, trendy and generally European (especially French). Everyone is wearing flowy kaftans, large sunglasses, cool board shorts and cute sundresses. On weekends there’s a DJ spinning lounge music or groovy house to the tempo of the setting of the sun. The atmosphere is somehow comparable to the beaches of Mykonos in Greece.
South Bay Beach has been the beach of choice for Europeans and the fashion set for many years due to its incomparable beauty and private location. There are also a lot of families that live in the neighborhood, so oftentimes there are a lot of children running around as well. On an unpolluted day, it's truly an amazing place to be.
The blue and white restaurant faces the ocean, the hills and the junk boats in the distance. They serve beach pleasers like hummous, babaganoush, cheese burgers, salads, omlets. The current chef has previously owned fine dining restaurants in HK so you can get sashimi grade seared tuna, imported Norweigan salmon, high quality Blue Swimmer crab cakes, and USDA prime cut Striploin steaks. It's an unprententious grill-oriented menu but quality enough to be destination dining. Too bad the place gets so slammed that the servers are often slow.
South Bay beach is now open dinner weeknights (Thur - Sun, and Tues-Wed by bookings only). Whether you come here to drink, eat, or chill out the ambience here can't be beat. It’s definetly our top spot for beaching and people watching (especially on weekends).
