SUSHI SASE
Sushi Sase is a new Japanese restaurant specializing in kaiseki cuisine. Opened just a few weeks ago, the new venue has become a hot dining spot in Soho and their dinner tables are almost always fully booked.
Upon entering the restaurant, there's a large open kitchen where you can watch the chefs perform. The entire restaurant features light wood and bamboo furniture which really brightens up the place. The minimalistic design sets their artfully crafted kaiseki dishes as the only décor in Sushi Sase.
Their dinner menu offers the Chef Omakase Course ($1380) which includes a series of dishes specifically selected by the chef according to the season and what ingredients are the freshest on the day, the Sushi Kaiseki Course ($1380) which is a multi-course kaiseki set and an Omakase Sushi Set ($950) which includes 15 pieces of sushi selected by the chef, miso soup and dessert. Although pricey, a set in Sushi Sase is slightly less expensive than one in Wagyu Kaiseki Den. The restaurant also offers a Mini Kaiseki Course ($580) during lunch time which is a very good price for kaiseki cuisine. For those who have never had a kaiseki dining experience, the lunch set would be a very good tasting menu for first-timers.
At Sushi Sase, their Japanese staff are very polite and friendly and their warm welcome makes you feel like you are dining at home.
