SOHO BASECAMP
This narrow Nepalese/Indian Restaurant in Soho has a pleasant atmosphere and a good location near the escalator on Staunton Street. There are high tables in the front and a bar area which is perfect for watching the action on Staunton Street.
Those that want more privacy can sit further back along the banquettes which line the walls or on the corner table way in the back. There’s also a small al fresco area for smokers and people who want to be outside. The decor is simple. There’s uplighting, wood tables, textured walls, colorful Nepalese pillows and ethnic wall hangings.
The menu is simple yet offers enough variety. For starters try the Himayalan samosas which comes with a tangy yet sweet mint sauce. We liked the BBQ chicken masala which has a mild tomato based curry. There are also salads, skewers and various tandoori dishes. The naan bread is flaky and crispy as opposed to doughy and they don’t use a lot of salt in the dough. There's a set lunch for 78HKD which is a good value.

Had to put up with drunk overweight female karaoke singers (claimed to be an opera singers!) whom then implied my teenage son and I were gay... The manager did nothing... And the food was average. A really bad night out.
