HUGO'S
Hugo's is a classic European restaurant focusing on authentic recipes under the auspices of its fictional Bavarian host and namesake, Hugo Ludwig Wilhelm von Gluckenstein. Their personalized service is definitely one of the best in town.
This famous, age-old restaurant established since 1969 reopens in the new Hyatt Regency. Loyal fans of the former Hugo’s will discover reincarnations of their classic romantic décor. The heavy pine doors at the entrance reclaimed from the original Hugo’s. Their ceiling is high, pitched and beamed with beautiful cinderellas. With natural lighting from the floor-to-ceiling windows, the atmosphere there is cozy. Banquet seating is spacious and comfortable there. You can also observe the chef’s artful skills from the open kitchen.
Service is a huge part in the dining experience in Hugo’s. Armed with an impressive array of traditional serving apparatus, including two remodeled walnut wood Christofle hors d’oeuvres trolleys from the 1960s, Hugo’s revives the craft of tableside preparation for such dishes as Caesar Salad, Lobster Bisque, Steak Tartare, Cherries Jubilee and Cafe Diablo. Apart from its classic food menu, this old-school establishment has an excellent cellar with more than 150 selections predominantly showcasing productions issued from vineyards lead under biodynamic or sustainable vine-growing practices. Don’t worry if you are lost, ask your experienced, knowledgeable sommelier for wine pairing tips and they are more than willing to help. A set lunch starts from $275 and it is a good price for sampling. Dinner is around $1000 per person but with such exquisite food and service, it is definitely worthy, especially if you are taking your hot date out for a romantic evening.
