FRIDGE

Fridge is a gourmet oyster and wine bar that’s just opened its Central branch in on Peel Street six months ago. With its first restaurant on Electric Road in Tin Hau, having a mere 6 seats and 2 staff, its new branch on Peel Street is just as boutique and offers the same great range of oysters, wine and French cuisine to satisfy any fancy, boozy or hearty appetite.

The interior of Fridge is anything but cold. Decorated in a clean, simple yet elegant style, there's a signature oyster bar and white tiled walls and wooden furnishings. The restaurant is small giving you a truly cozy feeling in which to enjoy oysters, food and wine that you definetly won’t get at home unless you’ve married the perfect French woman.

Fridge has an excellent selection of oysters from Gillardreau, Fine de Clair, Irish Rock to Fresh Pearl. All the oysters are fresh, taste great and are reasonably priced to boot.

After some oysters and white wine, you can sample some cured ham from Spain and Italy before switching to red to accompany the Fridge’s offerings of typical French mains including steaks, rack of lamb and roast spring chicken.  If you still have room after all this, you can finish off your truly French meal with a cheese platter and crackers.

Eating here is actually like walking into a fridge full of fine foods. Too bad its not your own fridge at home, as a meal will probably set you back a fair bit; though what you get is definitely worth what you pay for.
