HOLLY BROWN

Holly Brown is a 2-story cafe located in Central. With a big coffee roaster in the middle of the shop, a world-class Victoria Arduino espresso machine behind the bar and and two Hong Kong Grand Barista Champions running the shop, the big cafe is ambitious in changing the coffee culture in the city.

In Holly Brown, the coffee is freshly roasted and made on site. Today we are trying their espresso and latte to see if that mades a big difference. The espresso ($20) is strong and rich in flavor. It also has a long lasting after taste of roasted bean. It can definitely wake you up for a long working day. The latte ($34) is beautifully presented as a piece of coffee art. Upon the first sip you can feel how smooth it is and the coffee flavor is well balanced with the creamy wiped milk. Apart from coffee drinks, Holly Brown also serve hand-made Gelato ice-cream ($44) which is also made on site. There you can see their staff frying and mixing the ingredients and scoops of gelato are then presented on crispy waffle cups. This is a must-try item during the hot summer. There is a long list of gelato items on the menu but you can also custom-built your Gelato flavor. The cafe also serve other light food such as sandwiches, pies, salads, cakes and colorful cupcakes if you would like something more to fill your stomach.

The large cafe is spacious. Upon entering you can already see the colorful gelato fridge on your right and a small lounge area on the left of the entrance where you can sit down and relax. There are a lot of small wooden tables and chairs inside the cafe where you can have a casual chat with a friend or simply enjoy some quiet moments by yourself over a coffee. We expect the place to be filled with business associates running for a quick espresso, girls chit-chatting with each other over cups of sweet geloto and urban hippies "working" hard in this brand new office away from office.
