TSUI WAH RESTAURANT CENTRAL

Open for 24 hours, pretty much every day of the year, Tsui Wah is an institution in its own right. While there are many branches around town, the Tsui Wah Central branch has become THE PLACE for late night food after a long night out for the many gweilo-ised Chinese locals or gweilo-locals who have turned so Chinese.
On a weekend mid-night, this place is so packed that you feel like you are struggling for a table during a working day lunch hour. Luckily, the restaurant offers three levels of seating, so there will always be plenty of space for the inebriated. They also have some VIP rooms on property, and this is why the place is favored by many local celebrities including pop star Andy Lau, Leon Lai and the former Financial Secretary Antony Leung Kam-chung.
However, its main appeal is the food as this is where Tsui Wah doesn't muck around. They have an extensive menu of straight-up, down-to-earth dishes, with items ranging from your typical Chinese Fried Rice to Western Pasta; and from Japanese Udon Noodles to Indian Curry – all retouched by the Hong Kong taste, of course.
Some of Tsui Wah's signature dishes include the Hainanese Chicken Rice, the Hong Kong-style Curry, classic Fish Ball Noodles and their infamous Big Crispy Bun with Butter and Condensed Milk - tempting heart attack stuff. They also excel with their great selection of drinks, which include Hong Kong-style 'Lai-Cha' tea (with evaporated milk), iced lemon tea or iced coffee. The more adventurous diners might be interested in their more funky creations such as the Marshmallows with Sesame Ice cream or the Herbal Jelly on Ice. Whatever your oral disposition may be though, you can be sure Tsui Wah will have something to please your palette and this place has to be visited at least once.

ok - many people take their visitors across the street yung kee (and you should) but this place is the real deal and i love that it hasn't changed one dot since 1979. excellent, though bright, for a late night snack or brief shopping break meal.
