ALLORA WINE AND GRILL

The restaurant that replaced Cru on Staunton street may sound Italian but its not. 'Allora' is actually named after a small town in Brisbane, Australia.

Allora is a two-story restaurant serving continental fare. Like its predecessor Cru, the venue continues to be a popular destination for weekend brunches.

The décor of Allora features natural color tones. Its wooden walls, cushy brown chairs,  white linen tables and soft lighting together generate a relaxing atmosphere. There are also pictures of Australia on the wall. The restaurant overlooks Staunton Street making it an ideal people watch spot.

Allora's owner, Jenny, has lived in Australia for more than 10 years. Therefore she named her restaurant after the town she once called home. Although the restaurant is named after the Australian town, the head chef, Sunny Li, specializes in European cuisine. Allora has over 50 dishes in its extensive menu, ranging from the casual brunch set (like eggs benedict) to the lunch burger,  to the sophisticated Angus Steak and signature dessert- the Chocolate Nougat Parfait.

For the spring and summer, Sunny has prepared a special menu using fruits to whet your appetite. We recommend going there for a special seasonal menu sampling on a sunny summer Saturday afternoon. Ex-Cru fans won't be disappointed.
