THAI PARADISE

There's something moody and atmospheric about this 2nd floor Thai restaurant just off from the beginning of the Central escalator. At lunch, this place is packed with people who work in the area and are looking for a quick reasonably priced meal, but at night, it is considerably less busy, and with a neon glow filtering in from a sign adjacent to the restaurant, you almost feel like you're in a tacky karaoke bar on the set of a Wong Kar Wai film (in a good way).

Thai Paradise is a good location for a quiet dinner and a great place to have dinner by yourself - if you're feeling pensive. With it's large windows overlooking the escalator, this venue is a great place to observe life passing by.

The food at Thai Paradise is actually quite underrated. Our recommendations are the Tom Yam Soup, the Thai Green Papaya Salad, Pad Thai and the must-try specialty Thai Grilled Fish. We also tried the Tom Kha Gai (chicken soup in coconut milk), but most of the coconut based dishes are slightly too creamy. However, it's a great place for an atmospheric dinner or quick lunch.
