BABY BUDDHA

Baby Buddha is a small hideaway bar squeezed into an alley between some buildings and an old Chinese incense temple. Despite the narrow space, they've managed to give the place a uniquely organic urban atmosphere.
Baby Buddha integrates the surrounding buildings and the bordering cement wall perfectly into the design of the bar. For this reason, this bar feels like it could almost be a set in a movie like Blade Runner or Mad Max.
Baby Buddha oozes with red light. There are festive red fairy lights strung along a naked cement wall and red light emanates from behind the bar. There's even a red awning. The bar itself is decorated with little tiles typical of the old Chinese pre-war buildings. The front area has wooden garden furniture and there's a lounge-y banquette seating area in the back.
The crowd at Baby Buddha is similar to the crowd that goes to the Pottinger street bars - artists, DJs, hipsters, bohemians, travellers, writers etc... Sometimes the crowd is pretty random and it's often packed earlier on in the night. because it's so small, it's an easy place to circulate and meet people.
Baby Buddha's location in between Pottinger street and Lan Kwai Fong make it feel tucked away but completely accesible at the same time.
