THE PIER

The Pier is an English-style gastropub near the Kennedy Town harbor front. Their red brick walls, dark-wood tables and leather chairs fit the standard formula of a classic contemporary English pub.

On the right of the venue are  a few buoys (hence the theme of a pier). There are one to two high tables near the open front folding doors, making the place a nice spot for people watching in the local (Chinese) neighborhood.

At the bar, which is tucked away at the back of the venue, you can talk to the friendly bartenders and get advice on beer or wine matching. The atmosphere at The Pier is relaxing therefore you always see a good mix of locals and expats living in the hood going for casual drinks.

The pub has a long drink list and snack menu. They have a good selection of imported beers but we love their Leffe on the tap the most – this is definitely not a regular option available a bar in Hong Kong. On their wine list are mostly New World wines, particularly from Australia. They also have classic cocktails on the menu, which are very welcomed by their female customers, particularly on their Thursday Ladies Night. This place also has very reasonably priced snacks starting from $18 only. Their hot deals and complimentary snacks during happy hour make this neighborhood bar a regular place for many near-by residents in “K town”.
