P58
Located
on the section of Peel Street right between Staunton Street and Elgin Street in Soho, P58’s prime location makes this not-so-special venue a hot spot anyway.
P58’s walls are painted bright orange and there hangs several oriental Buddha paintings that you often see from the knock-off painting places on Hollywood Road. The lighting is soft there and the seating are fairly comfortable. Despite its lack of characteristics, the place is still a relaxing place for a budget happy hour drink and an excellent spot for watching during the weekends. As a fairly large bar in Soho, sometimes you also see people having private events such as birthday or hen’s night parties there.
The bar and lounge has a fairly long drink menu. We tried their Pina Colada and Bloody Mary and they tasted ok. Not good but not bad. So very soon we switched to their nice and cool draft beer, just like other customers do. P58 also have a snack menu serving Nepalese food such as momos which is probably take-aways from near-by restaurants. A snack dish is around $50 so it’s still fairly reasonably priced for a lounge in that location. Their momos taste very good too.
With its premium location, the place is also frequented by tourists and new-towners – which means it could be a nice place to meet some new friends.
