KEE CLUB

Kee Club is a members only club which has been around circa 2000 and it's still going strong. When Kee first opened, Paparazzi would be permanently stationed outside of it’s Kee's doors as VIP celebs, starlets and hong kong socialites would always be there.

Today many people consider Kee to be their favorite club because it has the atmosphere of a private house party. The crowd is eclectic and glamourous. There are celebrities, old money, new money, young trendies, older sophisticates, models, fashion people, Eurotrash, guys in suits, glam gals. It's the only member's only club that really feels like a "club". It's easy to socialize without pretensions.

Many people come to Kee in the early evening to have dinner. There's an extensive wine list and the food is decent. Apres dinner one can stay on to drink, dance, and talk. Kee is not obnoxiously loud. There are many spaces where you can have an earnest conversation (even though you're usually butt-ass drunk on champange and cosmopolitans while you're having it.)

Kee has a fantastic layout. There are two levels. Just past the entrance is a dark almost colonial-looking room where there's a large dancefloor and a corner bar. Ascend the grand staircase and you'll find the dining area on one side of the room and a bar/lounge area on the other. Bar stools line the edge of the stairwell and is a good place to people watch. The atmosphere is posh, yet unintimidating. There's a big wall of wines encased in glass, a crystal chandelier hanging by the grans staircase and the ambience is complimented by candlelight. The whole club has a good feng shui running through it. in Kee also has an easily accessible location in the heart of Central’s nightlife district.

Kee plays great music that caters to all tastes. The upstairs and downstairs has different music on any given night. There have been several special events held at Kee like art exhibitions, samba parties, pole dancing parties, champange parties, international guest DJ parties etc..

As for getting through the velvet ropes, you'll either have to know a member to get in or you have to be friendly with the door staff.

Kee Club is without doubt the most boring club in Hong Kong! The decor is nice to look at but the team running it has deteriorated. Marc David, a French dwarf of a director, is the big hypocrite, which is why I'm no longer a member, following my friends! We want nice decor, nice food and drinks but it's good and sincere service that keeps people coming back, and Kee Club has failed not because of its waitstaff but its management.
