HALO

This very exclusive ‘members only’ club is the brainchild of Volar owners Jaime Ho and Ben Ku. Halo has lavish psuedo-Euro decor. The place is u-shaped and has a few main rooms. One room has European-style wallpaper, chocolate leather sofas and is lit by romantic chandeliers. There’s also a room which looks like a study where you can play billiards. The other main room has an stone floors and stone-tiled walls. In this room, there are low leather chairs centred around small wood and metal tables. Alot of the walls are mirrored creating an effect of more space.
Halo is an exclusive club. There are a lot of little nooks and crannies which can be used as ‘private’ places to not be bothered. The lighting at Halo is dark and mysterious. Despite the fact that there are a lot of different themes running through the space, it has a cohesive design.
Halo has a clientele of A-listers, A-grade Hong Kong models, old money trust-fund kids and local Hong Kong celebs who don’t want to be harassed. Sometimes there’s a crowd of gweilos there, but it’s usually more of a local crowd. The crowd is often composed of people from the music or entertainment biz. Despite the opulence and the members, it’s actually a pretty low-key place. It’s not like the fishbowl at Dragon-I. Weekends are obviously more lively, but generally speaking, it’s a place to come with a bunch of people rather than a place to meet people you don’t know. The door policy is the same as Volar. It's usually members only with a few exceptions.
Halo is located within walking distance of Lan Kwai Fong on Stanley Street.
