LEI DOU
This romantic bar in Lan Kwai Fong has relocated from it’s secret 2nd floor location to street level. The décor is nouveau European and features black French-looking wallpaper as well as chandeliers, flowers and candlelight. Someone once described it as a place where they’d imagine international spies to be hanging out.
Lei Dou is a great place for a chilled drink amongst friends, and after-work drink or a good place to take a date if you’re looking for a venue where you can actually talk. Though many people come in groups about half the crowd will wander around socializing.
The music is mostly jazz and lounge music but it's entirely up to the DJ on the weekends. (They don't play hip hop or R&B unless it's a private function.) There’s a smart/casual dress code so the crowd tends to range from trendy to sophisticated. There’s an eclectic mix of people there which include expats as well as overseas Chinese.
Lei Dou has the entire 1st floor which is rented out for private events, the setting is the same as the main bar and is equal in size to the ground floor. Ask the manager if you are interested in renting it for private events.
