JOYCE IS NOT HERE

For many people Joyce is Not Here is just like home. Even if you go there alone you know for sure you are gonna bump into someone you are familiar with. If you are a stranger you will be greeted by the family who run it – “make yourself at home”.

Joyce is Not Here came from the fact that Joyce, the owner, was never there as she was too busy designing for the others. But if you don’t see her you will see her husband Rob or her son Jon, who’d say you hello, serve you food and drinks as if there were hosting a casual house party.

Designed by Joyce, also an interior designer, Joyce is Not Here is a bluish bar with black sofas, arm chairs and round tables sitting in a mosaic, alongside with some oil paintings, photographs, poems and books all over the place casually, as well as many red lanterns flowing up in the air.

Calling itself as an “Artist Bar”, Joyce is Not Here has different theme nights catering for various kinds of artists, from poetry reading to open mic to art-cinema sharing. It’s a second home of many local writers, musicians and art-lovers.
