DEJA-VU

The simplistic white exterior of the Déjà vu boutique lounge belies it's multi-themed interior. Entering Déjà vu you will see a small square area enclosed by two white walls and two glass doors covered by a canopy, cleverly creating an outside-in space allowing you to be taking in fresh air, having a cigarette, checking out the inside crowd through the glass doors while forgetting the world behind the white walls. Behind the glass doors is the bar where signature cocktails are prepared by very friendly bar staff. The first floor is painted red with a large fe/male portrait oil painting on the wall and has 2 small long tables making intimacy inevitable. The second floor is a private room with a bohemian décor. The whole room is perfumed with scented candles, essence oil and decent odor of fresh flowers. There is also a small balcony outside the second-floor private room overlooking Peel Street and allowing a glimpse of the outside-in area downstairs. Nice spot to spy on your predators.

Déjà vu is kinda exclusive. Fridays and Saturdays are by invitation only. How do you get yourself on the list? Go during weekday for a happy hour drink and talk to the cute manager. Once you pass the “quality control process” you are in.

The address says Staunton Street, Déjà vu is actually located right under the tiny little temple at Peel Street.
