SLIVER LOUNGE AND BAR

Sliver is the latest edition to Wyndham Street nightlife. It's a spaceship-like bar and lounge with an eclectic crowd (ABCs, bankers, the M1NT crowd, the after-work crowd) and one of the best places in town for excellent cocktails.

Sliver is narrow and has tall white leather booths with blue LED uplighting. There are shiny futuro-chrome beams threaded through the walls. There's a bar to the left with glass cases that showcase liquor bottles and a small dancefloor at the front by the DJ booth. The entrance door rotates but when it's closed all the way, one might get the feeling that the spaceship is about to blast off into outerspace!

At the moment the music is commercial and they play stuff like 'I got a feeling' by the Black-eyed Peas. They have DJs but until they find the right musical niche top 40 dance hits will have to do.

The biggest reason to come to Sliver is for the drinks. The bartenders are 'cocktail artists' who make such delectable concoctions you get drunk before you even realize how many you have sucked back. You can witness these master mixologists meticulously mixing cocktails made with seasonal fruits like kumquats. The drinks are truly amazing! There is even a huge selection of champagnes to choose from as well as a variety of fine whiskeys, rare single malts and scotch to enjoy. Sliver has a cool ice machine from Japan that makes baseball-sized orbs of ice so that the taste of the fine liquor is not diluted when the ice melts. Good drinks are hard to find in HK so this venue is unique in that sense.

I have been going to Sliver regularly for a few months now, and would just like to say the atmosphere in there is great. I love the music, the drinks are good, and the staff are EXTREMELY friendly. It feels like a home away from home especially as the owners are normally there to greet you which give it a friendly and personal touch. Love it. Good job guys, wish more places were like this.

"Good drinks are hard to find in HK"

What kind of lazy journalistic clap trap is that? There are lots of bars who would beg to differ.
