A couple of interesting things have landed in my inbox this week. The first is Shore’s first ever Sunday Edition. Starting from tomorrow, Shore will host a champagne brunch and dance party on the first Sunday of every month. Already HUGE in New York, Shore are the first to bring this idea to Hong Kong. So if Saturday night wasn’t large enough for you, pop down and line your stomachs with some tasty fare while you wait for the DJ to start blasting his tunes. From 12.30 – 5pm, reservations recommended.

Next on my list is Kee Club who are lucky enough to have Chef Daniel Salchegger join their team. Having spent time in the kitchen at 2-Michelin star restaurants such as Roka, London and Hubertus in Austria, Chef Salchegger has designed an elegant menu of classic recipes with an innovative twist. No stranger to Kee, having dazzled the taste buds off their Shanghai patrons in 2009, Salchegger describes his appointment as Head Chef at Kee Hong Kong, one of the city’s top restaurants, as ‘his dream’. Insistent on using no artificial ingredients in his cooking, I for one can’t wait to sample his culinary masterpieces; the sound of the foie gras composition with figs and PX sherry (photographed) has had my mouth watering for days. Lastly, Pantry Magic are holding a cupcake decorating competition! On Sunday 20th March, my favourite kitchenware store will provide one undecorated cupcake per contestant. There are two categories, one for 8-15 year olds and one for 16 year olds upwards. I don’t have any mini chefs of my own but apparently finding fun activities for little ones in Hong Kong can be a bit of a nightmare so grab the family and head down… your mini-me could even win a $1000 voucher… or if you wow the judges with your own icing skills you could walk away with a $2000 voucher for yourself. Winners of each category also receive a complimentary cooking class at Pantry Magic’s fabulous in-store open kitchen. The competition runs from 11am – 1pm. See you there!
