supersonic LIVE: Acoustic Session - Launch Party
We are branching out from simply spinning the best rock n roll tunes to playing them live and we’re very excited about this. To celebrate the launch of our Acoustic Sessions we’ve put together a cracking opening night bill:
JERSEY BUDD
This guy is gonna be huge! Jersey is playing in Hong Kong for the first time and for one night only. He’s about to embark on a UK tour with Amy MacDonald before playing all the major festivals in the UK this summer. Jersey has played with everyone from Noel Gallagher to Kasabian and is a thoroughly nice bloke with it. His live acoustic shows are legendary. Check him out here:

Here’s what a few people have been saying about him:
"Everyman appeal and melodies prove that Budd has a weather eye cocked to stadium rock posterity"
The Observer Music Monthly
"Quality song-writing that's about to win Budd even more friends"
NME
"Accomplished debut that frames Budd's classically wasted rocks/blues vocal"
The Fly
"Rollicking bar room rock in thrall to Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen"
Q
"This boy is going to be as big as fellow Leicester lads Kasabian."
The Sun
CHOCHUKMO
If you haven’t seen these guys play yet, where have you been! They are a 4-piece indie rock band based in Hong Kong with Jan Curious on Vocal, Mike Orange on Guitar and Keyboard, Les Hunter on Guitar, and Kitty Trouble on Drums.
Chochukmo have been selected as the “Top 20 Hong Kong Musicians” by Time Out Hong Kong in 2008 and have been included in “The Hong Kong Hot List: 20
They will be playing an Unplugged set for us and they are amazing.
A few quotes about the band:
“… perhaps the most charismatic band to have emerged in southern China in recent years”
TIME Magazine
“Hong Kong's indie band of choice, Chochukmo’s high-octane gigs make for the best live rock shows in the city.”
CNNGo
“It’s early days yet, but we might just be the proud new owners of an art-rock band with international potential.”
Time Out Hong Kong
Here’s a little teaser of what to expect:

OF MOTHS & STARS
We love these lads and think they are also destined for success. Of Moths & Stars are Nate Wisniewski on vocals and tambourine and Chris Dabbs on vocals and guitar (and now sporting a deadly ginger, handle bar moustache). They met at Leeds University before officially forming in Siem Reap, Cambodia, 2009. The band is currently based on Lamma Island, Hong Kong, where they have little or nothing to do with the large quantities of cats that go missing there.
Of Moths & Stars have become regulars on the Hong Kong live scene, but having played Clockenflap festival last year and with a support slot lined up for the Grammy winning OK GO!, we think they’re on the verge of great things. They are fantastic and we’re chuffed they’ve agreed to play for us.
