“Nebula” @ ABOVE SECOND

Above Second is proud to announce‘Nebula’, an original show that draws the viewer into the microcosmic galaxy of the minds of these artists. Consisting of intricate drawings, paintings, and paper cuts, this exhibition captures the hazy reflection of these artists' surroundings and daily life. Just like a galactic nebula absorbs the passing light from background stars in the universe, Michael and Mathias absorb the mundane turning their impressions into nightmares, dreams, and fantastical thoughts. Their Nebula can be bright as well as dark. They invite and share with us their private universe, a world in which they have created in order to escape, to be illogical and complex. The artwork of their mindscapes are filled with symbols, patterns, and color. The show challenges us to look at our own lives, our own irregular clusters that glow with our own light.
